Did I ever tell you how much my husband loves spreadsheets? He just loves them for almost everything. He has that organized mind that I don’t have. We are a good combination! Anywho, he encouraged me to keep a spreadsheet for the contents of the box the very first year I did this. As much as I dislike spreadsheets, he is right. It does allow me to look keep track of the items, the categories, etc. AND gives me a great resource to share with you.
I keep track of a lot of details, but here are the ones I think you would be most interested in knowing. Each of the 36 items we received (some days we received more than one item) fall into categories. Please note: some items fall into more than one category.
Here is the breakdown:
Consumables: 14 These items are all three charm packs; interfacing; cones and stars; batting; felt bird kit; wooden purse handles; magnetic purse closure; glue; precut hexagons; puzzle book; and sticky notes tin.
Sewing Tools: 9 Included in this category are templates; pins; clip light; iron rest; sewing seam guides; point turner; sewing kit; and sewing tote.
Patterns: 7
Non-Quilting Related Items: 8 This is always a tough category to qualify, so here is my rule, if you will: Someone who doesn’t quilt would like these items. Without further ado, here it is: plates, rolling pin, playing cards, Wet It Cloths, puzzle book, sticky notes, mug, clip light; iron rest; and novel.
Branded Items: 10 Ohhhh, this is a touchy subject! For some reason, many do not want me to point this out. I am not sure why. Please know I don’t mind branded items! I really don’t. I swear this is not a dig on MSQC in any way at all. I just keep track of it. Also, the colors everyone loves is the MSQC’s branding colors, which is why they all match. Here’s the list: Snu-ly charm pack; plates, rolling pin, playing cards, iron rest, Wet It Cloths; puzzle book, sticky notes, sewing kit, mug, novel, and sewing tote. I debated adding the patterns to this list, but I didn’t. What do you think? Should they be added, too?
Projects: 17 It still amazes me that I made 17 items from this box this year!
